Why I authored the book on cryptocurrency
‘Cryptomania’ is just one of the many innovative ideas that I have shared with the world. My ultimate goal is to leave an impact in a way that can help humanity to reach new heights
I have always been an avid reader since childhood. According to me, the most powerful tool that can change your life is books. So, if you have the privilege of reading, there is no looking back. I initially started reading fiction when I was in Class III or IV.. But the first time I fell in love with a book was when I started reading ‘A Brief History of Time’ by Sir Stephen Hawking. The book had left me awe-struck and completely changed my view of the world. I started discovering a lot of interesting novels by well-known authors such as Sir Richard Feynman, Alexander Schrodinger, Einstein, and some other geniuses. This newfound hobby of reading books started changing my perception of how I look at the world. I was always keen to know things that might pave the future of humanity.
In early 2010, when I was 11 years old, a term called ‘Bitcoin’ started to grasp almost every techie’s attention. Since I did not have any gadget of my own to do research, I used to ask my friends and family about it, but to my astonishment, not a single soul was able to help me out with my curiosity. Even though Bitcoin came into existence in 2009, I was already a year or two late in learning. In late 2011, I read an article on a well-known website that Bitcoin is nothing but a fad and why people should stay away from this scam. My curiosity about this topic was further piqued and I kept on looking for more information regarding this controversial topic.
When I was in Class X, I had my own cellphone and a laptop, so I had started my quest for answers yet again. When I started to read more about this, I came to realise that the person hiding under the pseudo-name of Satoshi Nakamoto is a genius. After the financial crisis which the world had to face in 2008, this genius had given the world an answer to a decentralized mode of currency. Even though I do not consider Bitcoin as a ‘currency’, but it surely is a store of value, because people trust the decentralization technology behind it. The most immaculately innovative technology which Satoshi had given us with this invention was ‘Blockchain’, I am a huge admirer and a staunch supporter of this technology.
By the time I entered Class XI, I had developed another passion for investing, once I got familiarized with the inflation rate of our country, I knew that money in banks is always depreciating, I tried to read as much as I could on this topic and found my teacher in Mr. Warren Buffet who taught me value investing. I have admired him all my life, but the one event which broke my heart was when he said that Bitcoin is just a bubble and it will burst, even though I strongly believe that cryptocurrency and the technology behind it are way greater than bitcoin itself, but neglecting experiments with innovation was not understandable for me. I kept my research on and got involved in both, stocks, and the crypto market. The amount I started investing from my little savings gave me huge returns in cryptocurrency, which blew me away, but I had promised myself one thing, I will never gamble trade and instead invest in the technology behind it. In the past few years, a lot of my friends and family members have been wanting to gamble on this platform based on my knowledge but I have managed to dissuade them. Therefore, I decided to write a book on this topic and spread out the message for everyone to read about the technology behind it, and invest in the innovation, rather than outrightly gambling on it to make short-term gains.
‘Cryptomania’, is just offering from my bag of ideas; my end goal is to leave an impact in a way that can help humanity to reach new heights.
