It’s that time of the year again! The exam time! Endless revisions, projects and assignments students often take a lot of stress, neglect their health and miss on their sleep during exams. However, this should not happen. Moreover, health should be given a lot of importance during exam time. Students should not forget that healthy eating habits and keeping your brain relaxed can help you achieve a good score. In the following article, we will shed light on some health tips which will help you during exam time.

1. Eat a well-balanced diet

Balanced Diet

While studying students often look for snacks such as chips, French fries, and chocolate but nutritional meals will help you concentrate better. Healthy food is not only essential for a healthy mind and body balance, but a well-balanced diet can also help you strengthen your concentration power. You should avoid junk food as it tends to slow you down. You should eat plenty of green vegetables and fresh fruits. Some other foods that should be included in a child’s diet are fish, sprouted grains, healthy fats, healthy nuts and seeds, and dairy products as these also help in releasing tension and focus better.

2. Avoid excess caffeine

Many students fall into the trap of grabbing a lot of caffeinated or energy drinks to help them stay awake and study for long hours. You may think that it will help you prepare better for an exam but it’s more likely that you will crash. Instead opt for healthy drinks like fresh fruit juices, coconut water or protein shakes.

3. A Good Night’s Sleep

Sacrificing your sleep for late-night cramming is not a wise option, even if you want to be more prepared for your exam. It is unlikely that you will do your best study if you are struggling to stay awake. Moreover, a good night’s sleep will help you perform better in your exam.

4. Meditation

Meditation not only increases your concentration but will also combat the pre-exam jitters which often comes in the way of your hard work and preparation. Keep your face upward, your palms open, kept on the lap facing upwards. Breathe gently and do this for 10 to 15 minutes a day, every morning. If done daily, you would also witness a considerable hike in your memory retention.
