UPES was established in the year 2003 through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. ULSAT is a centralized university entrance examination for 5 years integrated B.Tech LL.B.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for B.Tech LLB. – Minimum 50% marks at Higher and Senior Secondary level (X and XII) and Minimum 50% aggregate in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) at Senior Secondary level (XII)

Non-Exam Pathway – LAW Programs through Board Merit/ CLAT Merit / L-SAT India Merit
JEE Merit / CLAT Merit / L-SAT India Merit
- For BA LLB (Hons)/ BBA LLB (Hons)/ B. Com, LLB (Hons) – Candidates with minimum 50% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th) and CLATAIR ranking up to 15000/ L-SAT India Percentile of 60 percentile or above will be exempted from appearing in ULSAT.
- For B. Tech LLB (Hons) Candidates with minimum 50% Marks in Higher & Senior Secondary (10th & 12th), minimum 50% Marks in PCM at Senior Secondary Level (12th), JEE Main cut-off Rank to be announced (on UPES website) after the declaration of JEE Main 2021 results), will be exempted from UPESEAT.
Board Merit
- For BA LLB (Hons)/ BBA LLB (Hons)/B. Com LLB (Hons) – Candidates with 80% marks in 10th and 12th main five subjects (English as one of the compulsory Subject) are exempted from ULSAT.
- For B.Tech. LLB (Hons) Candidates with minimum 70% marks in 10th, 12th and 12th PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Math’s) are exempted from UPESEAT.
- Up to 20% seats shall be filled through Board Merit/ CLAT AIR/ UL-SAT India Category. In case, any seat remaining vacant UPES has the right to fill such seats through ULSAT.
Admit Card (to be downloaded from UPES website)
Admit card for LL.B. Computer Based Test –
1. Test date booking process will start from (to be announced) onwards on www.upes.ac.in
2. Admit card will be issued to students immediately after successfully completion of test booking process.
3. Student applying through offline mode through OMR form, also follow the process of test date booking and to get Admit Card from
(to be announced) onwards on www.upes.ac.in
Note: 1. University reserves the right to increase or decrease test days/dates/number of test cities. Please refer www.upes.ac.in for updated information.
2. UPES will allot the test date and city as per the availability for the students who fail to choose the test date and city of their choice.
