Their faculty internship program, Project Abhigyat, helps equip faculty with current industry knowledge and experiences. Another initiative, PGCAP or Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practices provides academic, personal and professional development opportunity to the faculty/academic staff that helps in effectively driving higher education. Besides the above, the university has multiple initiatives not only to inspire high-potential and high-performing leaders, but also to help staff acquire new technical and soft skills, sharpen existing ones, increase productivity and become better professionals.

Employability (5 Stars): UPES has been widely acknowledged for its industry-aligned curriculum and a robust placement ecosystem. For the Employability category, the university was assessed on its reputation among employers, the graduate employment rate, and career service support. UPES has a well-laid-out team of career advisors, guiding students and 580 companies present on campus. It has an impressive placement record of 94%. Besides this, there are career fairs, career advising sessions, interview training and CV support for the students. Additionally, there is an online career portal to aid the employability process.

This year, UPES Student Saksham Kumar, from B.Tech. Computer Science Engineering, received the highest package of INR 44 LPA so far from a leading gaming company in the Netherlands. Kamal Dua, Abhishek Paharva and Kartik Singh, also from the School of Computer Science, have each landed a package of INR 30 LPA. The UPES School of Design has closed with 100% placements in record time with an average CTC of INR 6.34 LPA.

Program Strength in MBA Oil and Gas Management (5 Stars): In the MBA Oil and Gas Management specialist program, one faculty is assigned per five students, making it an optimal faculty-to-student ratio. The degree program has had a stellar record of 95.7 per cent employed graduates, besides an internationally-recognised accreditation.

Facilities (5 Stars): The University, located in the scenic locales of Dehradun, boasts of state-of-the-art infrastructure including 43 student clubs and societies, library, student accommodation, fitness gym, indoor court and expansive sports fields. The campus houses a bookstore, cafeteria, prayer zones and a social room. Health support services and medical facilities are also available on the campus round-the-clock. Ever since its inception in 2003, UPES has been working tirelessly in pursuit of excellence for delivering high-quality education.

  1. QS Stars understands that universities are different to one another and therefore need to be assessed on a range of categories that recognize distinct strengths. It also recognizes that each student is looking for something different, and not all universities – even the highest ranked institutions – suit every student.
