Nothing ever Becomes Real Till it is Experienced
Everything I have experienced at the campus in the last few months, reassures me that I am on the right path and moving towards fulfilling my dreams
It all began in July 2019, in the first week of college, when we got an exciting opportunity to interact with students of various programs and schools through the Student Orientation Program. We were divided into different houses and I was a member of Indra Nooyi House. The morning sessions had group activities and in the afternoon sessions, we were introduced to various departments like student engagement and experience (SEE), SRE, IT and others. We got to know the various functions these departments perform and how they work. We also had a case study session on the Mumbai tiffin system. In this session, key people from Mumbai tiffin system shared their supply chain management techniques, the process of operations, achievements, etc., which was inspiring.
In the second week we had a certificate course of Personality Enhancement Program by Dale Carneige which helped us in understanding and improving time management, public speaking and interpersonal skills. Thereafter, our actual academic session commenced and we were introduced to our domain subjects, course plan, evaluation process, etc.
Nothing ever becomes real till it is experienced. Every move I made over the past few months and the things I experienced at the campus, made me believe that I am on the right path and moving towards fulfilling my dreams. In the month of November, I acted as co-head of the hospitality team for ‘Logistikas 2k19’, besides actively volunteering for the quiz. All these activities have been great knowledge enhancers for me.
Now, I have successfully completed my 1st semester with 8.1 CGPA and have stepped into the 2nd semester with great motivation. Recently, I participated in ‘Budget Sameeksha 2020’ and emerged a winner. I was also a panelist in ‘Budget 2020 Young Minds’ discussion organised by India Ahead News Channel in collaboration with UPES.
I cherish these little milestones that are shaping my academic journey and preparing me for the sea of opportunities that await me.
Unwinding and recharging
They say nature’s beauty has healing properties; that a dose of green works wonders for our physical and mental well-being. As our campus is situated in the beautiful city of Dehradun, it provides us with unforgettable and mesmerising vistas. The gushing streams, deep ravines, verdant valleys, and most of all, the lofty, contoured mountain ranges are some of the images that will remain etched in our memories forever. During our adventure trips and exploration of places like Mussoorie and Dhanaulti, we got to see the astonishing beauty of nature up close.
Over the next few months, I shall be looking forward to grabbing more opportunities to learn, grow and become the person I dream to be.
