Another initiative, PGCAP or Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Practices provides academic, personal and professional development opportunity to the faculty/academic staff that helps in effectively driving higher education. Besides the above, the university has multiple initiatives not only to inspire high-potential and high-performing leaders, but also to help staff acquire new technical and soft skills, sharpen existing ones, increase productivity and become better professionals.

For the Employability category, the university was assessed on its reputation among employers, the graduate employment rate, and career service support. UPES has a well-laid-out team of career advisors, guiding students and 580 companies present on campus. It has an impressive placement record of 94%. Besides this, there are career fairs, career advising sessions, interview training and CV support for the students. Additionally, there is an online career portal to aid the employability process.

The QS Stars™ rating system evaluates universities across a wide range of important performance indicators as set against pre-established international standards. By covering a broader array of criteria than any world-ranking exercise, QS Stars™ shines a light on both the excellence and the diversity of the rated institution.
QS Stars understands that universities are different to one another and therefore need to be assessed on a range of categories that recognize distinct strengths. It also recognizes that each student is looking for something different, and not all universities – even the highest ranked institutions – suit every student.
