UPES students recount their podcast training experience at Hubhopper
Hubhopper is India’s leading podcast creation and distribution platform, and UPES’ School of Modern Media entered into an academic partnership with it in August 2021
The students at the UPES School of Modern Media recently had the wonderful opportunity to learn and train in podcast production with the leading podcast creation and distribution platform Hubhopper. UPES School of Modern Media entered into an academic partnership with Hubhopper in August 2021 for its BA Digital and Mass Media (Broadcasting) program.
Here’s what the students have to say about their experience with Hubhopper:
Anjori, pursuing a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication, believes that Hubhopper is the best place to create podcasts. “If you want to start making a podcast, Hubhopper is the best place to do it. It is easy-to-use and gets the work done better than you would expect.”
Anjori created her first podcast ‘Explore Asia’ using Hubhopper and explained how the software helped her cut down the production work by 70%. She said, “Hubhopper Studio provided us with so many features, from recording to editing, adding bits, background music, intros, and outros. The platform brings everything in one place, making it a lot easier than finding 10 different apps to do the same things.”
Yash Pranjal Rishi, a student of MA Journalism and Mass Communication (Digital), described working with Hubhopper as “bliss”.
“There is no need for shifting to different apps to record, edit or publish. All of it can be done on just one platform and that’s it. This makes podcasting so easy and enjoyable. Hubhopper really delivers what it claims,” he said.
Aarya Suresh Bhatt, pursuing MA in Digital and Mass Media (Broadcasting), described Hubhopper as being very user-friendly. “I was introduced to Hubhopper by UPES. It’s an easy-to-use website where one can listen to as well as publish a podcast on different platforms all in one go, without having to publish them individually on different platforms. The website is user-friendly so that any newcomer, without any knowledge of publishing a podcast, can edit and publish his podcast,” he said.
His classmate Milli Thawani said Hubhopper helped her realise her dream of sharing life experiences with others.
“Hubhopper is a great audio platform for one to share their stories and experiences with the world,” she said. Admitting that she was not aware of the platform until her professor introduced her to it, Milli said that they were guided thoroughly regarding its use which made the experience “very easy”. Milli has always loved sharing life stories but said that she never got a platform to share them with others. She said that Hubhopper helped her realise her dream and her inclination for it “is increasing more and more by creating new podcasts every week”.
Hubhopper was founded in 2015 by Gautam Raj Anand and has grown to become one of the leading podcast creation platforms in the country. The company was enlisted in Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia in 2018, Tech30 companies by YourStory at TechSparks in 2019, and Fortune 40 Under 40 India in 2020.
As part of the agreement signed with UPES, Hubhopper provides exclusive training to the School of Modern Media students and faculty members in podcast creation and distribution, as well as masterclasses in the evolution, future implications, and applications of podcasts.
Hubhopper allows content creators to launch their podcasts over 15+ podcast listening platforms such as Spotify and Gaana. Its content creation tool Hubhopper Studio makes podcast creation and distribution so easy that anyone can do it for free and seamlessly enter the audio-on-demand market.
While it streams thousands of hours of Indian podcasts to listeners on various apps, it has its own podcast listening app – the Hubhopper mobile app – for podcast listeners.
